Schmidt Consulting Group, Inc. designed the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Communications systems for the new Wellness Center at Gulf Coast Community College. The facility includes a diverse range of occupancies including typical classrooms, administrative areas, a gymnasium, a dance studio, workout facilities, lockers, and a therapy pool.

The new mechanical system designed for the project ties into the existing campus chilled and hot water distribution system. It utilizes custom air handling units with variable volume controls for low sound levels, high energy efficiency, and a long life cycle. SCG's design also included a temperature control system designed to raise or lower the indoor therapy pool temperature as needed for different activities.
