The Health, Leisure, and Sports Facility serves as the focus for student sports activities for the University of West Florida. Located just west of the main campus entrance, this new 108,000 square foot, $19 million facility houses offices for both the Health, Leisure, and Exercise Sciences programs as well as the Recreation Department. Essential functions of this facility include classrooms, biomechanics and motor learning labs, two teaching gymnasiums, an additional three-court gym, a 10,000 square foot fitness and cardiovascular center, dance and aerobics studios, racquetball courts, an indoor running track and a climbing wall.

Schmidt Consulting Group, Inc. design audio systems for two aerobics studios, one large gymnasium, two large workout rooms, and two teaching gymnasiums. All venues have high-end sound systems catered for the specific room application. In addition, the buildings systems include full wireless network coverage; background music; and security access control and monitoring.

In addition to the Audio systems, Schmidt Consulting Group, Inc. designed the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Telecommunications, and Fire Protection systems for this project. We also provided Threshold Inspection services for the facility during construction.
