| Baldwin County is located in the southeast corner of the state, bordered by the Gulf of Mexico, Mobile Bay, Florida, and adjoining counties in Alabama. It is one of the largest counties in the land area east of the Mississippi River, home to more than 157,000 residents, and is one of the fastest growing counties in Alabama. The Baldwin County Public Schools system consists of nineteen elementary schools, seven middle schools, seven high schools, four intermediate schools, one K-1 Center, and eight special purpose schools. Schmidt Consulting Group, Inc. established a relationship with the district in 2002 and has since provided design services for seven new schools. A listing of those schools is as follows:
